1. Information We Collect
FluentFlyout does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or precise location. As a background utility application, it does not require any user-specific information to function.
To help us understand how the application is used, improve performance and add features users like, we collect basic, anonymous usage data (see Section 2).
Additionally, the platform through which you install the app (Microsoft Store) may collect certain technical and usage information automatically (see Section 3).
FluentFlyout's website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (https://fluentflyout.com). Cloudflare may collect additional network and HTTP traffic data automatically (see Section 4).
2. Telemetry and Usage Data
FluentFlyout collects limited, anonymous telemetry to help us maintain, optimize and improve the application.
- What we collect: This data may include basic information about application events (such as whether a specific feature was enabled, or whether onboarding was successful).
- Anonymity: This data is entirely anonymous. It does not contain any personal identifiers, names, locations, or network addresses such as IP. We cannot use this data to identify you or link it to any specific individual.
- Purpose: We use this information solely to identify bugs, understand which features are most valuable to our users, and guide future development.
- Opt-out: You can opt out of this anonymous data collection at any time by going to the FluentFlyout Settings menu and disabling "Anonymous Usage Data" under System.
3. Microsoft Store Analytics & Windows Diagnostics
Depending on your installation method and Windows settings, Microsoft may automatically collect certain diagnostic and usage data:
- Microsoft Store Version: If you installed FluentFlyout from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft collects standard analytics, including app acquisitions (downloads), active usage sessions, and hardware configuration (e.g., OS version, device type).
- App Health: Microsoft automatically collects "Health" data, such as crash reports, hang reports, and performance metrics (e.g., memory usage). This data is provided to the developer in an anonymous, aggregated format to help improve the application.
- Windows Diagnostic Data: For both the Store and MSIX (GitHub) versions, Windows may collect information about how the app performs if you have enabled "Diagnostic data" in your Windows Privacy Settings.
For more information on what Microsoft collects, please refer to the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
4. Cloudflare Data Collection
FluentFlyout's website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may automatically collect network metadata and HTTP traffic, primarily consisting of IP addresses, device interaction, and server activity data. Cloudflare uses this data to route traffic, protect against malicious attacks (such as DDoS), and measure web analytics.
No tracking or fingerprinting: Cloudflare does not use tracking or cookies to collect usage metrics, and our website does not store or collect anything.
For more information on what Cloudflare collects, please refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
We use Cloudflare Analytics Engine to securely collect the anonymous usage data described in Section 2. No personal data is shared with this service. They do not monetize, sell, or use your data to build advertising profiles.
6. Data Security
The anonymous usage data collected by the application is transmitted securely over HTTPS. Because we do not collect or store any personal information, there are no databases of personal user data to secure. We rely on the security of the Microsoft Store, Cloudflare and GitHub for the safe distribution of the application binaries.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
